Clare Thomas makes work about place and home, belonging and memory. Working both in the studio and outdoors, her project-based practice spans environmental actions, photography, collage, painting and sculpture. She uses found materials and personal documents to create a body of work whose narrative is both deeply autobiographical and universal
Thomas holds an MA in
Art and Environment from the University of Falmouth, UK, and her work has been
shown in Canada, the UK and Germany. She lives in Victoria, BC, where she is a
founding member of BOXCARSIX artist collective.
